Species
In total, there are about 600 cultivated aquatic species, but only 27 of them are economically relevant. These 27 species account for over 90% of global production.
AWSI focuses primarily on the species that are most common in the production, trade and consumption sectors and for which good scientific findings on animal welfare and protection are already available.
